If somebody could add about 4 extra hours to a day, I'd sign up. Damn, can't seem to get all the stuff I want to do, done. My wife says I have too many hobbies. I say, I have too many jobs. I work 5 days a week 8-5 at software suppport. After supper, I sit down and work for another couple of hours a night doing books for 3 companies. Add to this the normal day-to-day of running a household, paying bills, fixing broken stuff (this gets more and more trying as the house gets older), etc.....

On December 19, I had to leave work early due to extreme abdominal cramping and pain. The drive home (35 minutes or so on a rather jam-packed Queensway) was interesting to say the least. My wife, Sharon, met me at the door. She's a physician and was very concerned about me. We had a Christmas Open House scheduled for the following evening. She said she was going to start calling to cancel. I protested and asked that she hang off a bit. I'd go to bed and rest a bit. While I was in bed, ...

Yesterday was spent in the basement building a generator. My son is entering a science fair at his high school and came up with this idea of creating light from a magnet. Simple, I thought, but wait... there's more. Building the generator, it turns out, was the simple part. He cruised the net and found plans, complete with measured drawings no less! A trip to Radio Shack for the electronic parts (wire and a bulb) and to Lee Valley Tools (my favourite store here in Ottawa) for the magnets ...

Welcome to the musings of CamperGuy. Mountains of thought and so little time. [sigh] Had some people over last night for a bit of food and libation. Brought the scope outside to cool down and got some excellent views of Saturn and the moon before clouds and light snow moved in. It was cold... -25C cold. But, that's what parkas and wolly mitts are for, right? I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather though.... only 4 more months to go.
